Transcription of a 1915 - 1919 diary written by my husband's grandmother Ada May (Grimshaw) Illingworth who lived in Springfield, Vermont.
It's hard for us to imagine how horrible a diptheria epidemic must have been. I remember quarantine signs for measles and scarlet fever and mumps--did they do that in England?
ReplyDeleteHow frightening that must have been. I remember the polio scare and getting my polio shot in the 60's. The H1N1 seems mild in contrast to some of these other dread diseases.
