What happened? I thought Barbara was doing better. Deborah, any idea who Barbara was?
ReplyDeleteFrances, Barbara was the baby girl of a friend. I think she was just starting to overcome a sickness (assidouis Ada called it - don't know what that was) when she developed pneumonia and died.
ReplyDeleteThere are quite a few times in the diary where Ada will follow the ups and downs of friends and relatives where they eventually die. It's sometimes really a shock to read.
Early death was so much more present in their lives in those days.
